PLNU Alum Jeff Finger Releases New Album

PLNU alum Jeff Finger (89) is the leader for Café Band, a musical ensemble that leads worship for one of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church’s four campuses in Menlo Park, Calif. They recently released their first album, titled Reborn, which features new approaches to well-known worship songs. We sat down with Jeff to learn a little more about the album, as well as his unorthodox journey into a musician’s life.

PLNU alum Nate Brewer has experienced a great deal of change since graduating from PLNU. After playing four years of PLNU soccer, and earning the titles of MVP and co-captain his senior year, Brewer was recruited by Surge International, an organization devoted to soccer ministry.

PLNU alum and chief life sciences officer of San Diego Zoo Global Dr. Robert Wiese speaks tonight at the Silent Spring Series put on by the Center for Ethics in Science & Technology. PLNU is also co-sponsoring the event. The forum, held at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in San Diego’s Balboa Park, will focus on the ethical dilemma of those seeking to preserve endangered species.

PLNU Hosts 11th Annual Monopoly Tournament

Carl Hammond, PLNU assistant professor accounting, has more than a dozen boxes of Monopoly lining an upper shelf in his office. He is the founder of PLNU’s annual Monopoly Tournament, which is open to students of any major, alumni, or any others with a passion for Monopoly or PLNU.
